Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) announced the launch of the first phase of Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City and the reception of patients as of November 3, 2019 in a first step for the gradual opening of the new medical facility as part of the Abu Dhabi Government's strategy to raise the efficiency of the health system in the Emirate to the global level. Dr. Sheikh Jaber Al-Kuwaiti, Chairman of the Operational Committee of Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, explained that the Medical City is the largest hospital in the UAE, with an area of ​​300 thousand square meters, and contains 732 patient rooms, and includes 18 equipped operating rooms, 40 recovery beds, and 26 children's rooms Preterm infants, in addition to a smart pharmacy, noting that the capacity of outpatient clinics ranged between 2500 and 3000 patients per day.

He pointed out that the first phase of the opening of Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City will include departments of general cardiology for adults, neurology for adults, nose and throat, diseases of the digestive system, liver, ophthalmology, while the second phase of the opening will be gradually end of this year 2019, and the beginning of next year 2020 .

He stressed that Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City was equipped with the latest equipment, especially operating rooms equipped with an automated surgeon that performs important surgical operations accurately, efficiently and quickly, and contributes to the completion of operations in one hour instead of five hours, and the patient can be discharged from the hospital within one day instead From a week ago.

He said: The smart pharmacy will provide services to customers through 18 windows, and medicines are dispensed automatically, which makes the error rate is zero, while the 18 operating theaters are equipped with the latest devices, and controlled automatically in all stages, and is equipped with a direct transfer of operations through processing system High quality imaging and voting, while the preterm care unit is equipped with the latest equipment.

Saeed Jaber Al-Kuwaiti, Chairman of the Operational Committee of Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, confirmed that SEHA is keen to improve the quality of health services provided to all Abu Dhabi residents through four areas: accessibility, medical results, financial stability and patient satisfaction.
