The Deputy Prosecutor General noted that the decision to close the case was made on August 1, 2017.

“When the proceedings were closed, the prosecutor did the right thing, since no investigative actions were carried out for nine months,” RIA Novosti quoted Kholodnitsky as saying on Radio Novoye Vremya.

Earlier, the White House published a transcript of a conversation between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, during which the Ukrainian president promised that the new attorney general would study the situation with the son of former US vice president Joe Biden.

As The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources, Trump “during the July telephone conversation repeatedly pressured Vladimir Zelensky to open an investigation into Joe Biden’s son.”
