The European Union (EU) sanctioned seven members of the Venezuelan security forces on Friday for "torture" and other "human rights" violations, four of them in connection with the death of the military Rafael Acosta, announced the EU Council .
The seven members of the sanctioned "security and intelligence forces" are involved "in torture and other serious human rights violations," the European institution said in a statement. Acosta died at the end of June in a hospital in Caracas for alleged torture during his detention.
