Late Tuesday evening, an 82 meter long cargo ship on the ground outside Helsingborg was at the height of Hittarp. The master was suspected of seafilling and arrested.

On Friday morning, a detention hearing was held in Malmö District Court and the man was arrested on probable cause for gross seafilling and gross negligence in maritime traffic. Something that Helsingborgs Dagblad was the first to tell.

In the interrogation, the man has admitted that he drank one or two beers when he was not on duty and that he fell asleep just before he was about to head north to Helsingborg.

- I steered the ship safely, but shortly before gearing up I fell asleep. I don't understand why I fell asleep, he says.

According to Chamber Prosecutor Tomas Olvmyr, the ship must have been grounded first at one location and then tried to get out and again due to another location. The man should also have had 0.37 per alcohol in the exhaled air shortly after.

Now, the man is being detained for two weeks pending prosecution or detention.
