It was in connection with the UN Climate Summit that the global strike was announced - with millions of participants worldwide as a result. Now the protests continue as further strikes were carried out during Friday.

This time, the young had especially stretched out their hand for adults to join in the strike, and many were listening. SVT News has been present in many cities around Sweden to report.

"Want to show our solidarity with the young people"

The climate strike in Stockholm drew 60,000 participants according to the organizers. In Umeå, a school organized a manifestation where the children were allowed to share their best climate tips for adults. In Nyköping, several entrepreneurs went out to show their support for the young and the climate. And in Västerås, several retirees had chosen to join.

- We want to be here and show our solidarity with Greta and all young people, and that we support the manifestation for the climate, says Charlotte Lundgren.

Two million people

Numerous climate marches were also organized around the world. In New Zealand, 170,000 people are reported to have demonstrated, which is 3.5 percent of the population. More than 100,000 people protested in Rome, and in Austria 150,000 people participated, according to the organizers.

In total, the various climate protests are estimated to have attracted around two million people during Friday and six million over the entire week.

One of the largest marches was organized in the Canadian Montreal where Greta Thunberg participated. Up to 400,000 people were expected to attend.

Thunberg had a meeting with Trudeau

Thunberg had a meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau before the demonstration and will speak to the masses afterwards.

About his meeting with Trudeau, Thunberg says he has not done enough.

"Of course he doesn't do enough, but this is such a big problem," she told Reuters. My message to all politicians is the same, that just listen to science, act on science, she should have continued.
