In Bishkek, they said that the journalist “incorrectly spoke out” about the situation around Kyrgyz citizen Islambek Akbarov, who became a participant in a fatal accident of Russian Alexander Marugov.
Malakhov admitted that Akbar could have specially arranged an accident for a monetary reward due to the low level of salaries in the republic.
The ministry expressed concern about such statements on the air of the Russian state media against the backdrop of allied relations and strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan also condemned the statement of the presenter, publishing a post with the words "Malakhov is not our hero."
TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov, in an interview with Vzglyad, commented on the situation. In his opinion, Malakhov did not show disrespect to either the country or the people, but spoke about a specific person.
