27 September 2019A multicolored wave invades the main cities of the planet in the name of a radical change in the policies adopted so far to combat climate change. "Change the system, not the climate", one of the slogans that summarizes the approach of the new generations to the theme that increasingly questions international governments and agencies.

In more than 150 Italian cities today students and students in the streets for the third global climate strike by Fridays for Future Italy with the accession of the Union of Students, Link - University Coordination and Knowledge Network.

"The United Nations Assembly has been a failure - underlines Giacomo Cossu, national coordinator of the Knowledge Network - the powerful of the planet are not going to change course to save our future. We young people will continue to rebel against this political class, following the example of Greta and asking that climate justice be financed by those who have enriched themselves with the unsustainable economic model. The multinationals and the rich of the planet must contribute to the ecological conversion more than all. Yet the Italian government limits itself to rhetoric, while according to the draft decree, Clima intends to give harmful environmental subsidies until 2040, an unacceptable choice ".

'' We need an immediate change of course that finances education and research for another model of sustainable development, which is why in more than 150 squares in the country we are on a par with Fridays for Future Italy for the third global strike with the cry Change the School to Change the System '', begins Giulia Biazzo, national coordinator of the Union of Students.

For Camilla Guarino of Link University Coordination "knowledge is fundamental to change our unsustainable economic and social model. Universities, through research and scientific knowledge, must have a central role in indicating to politics which paths to take".
