His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, chaired the UAE delegation to the ministerial meeting on Libya, which France and Italy have called for on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

His Highness was accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash and UAE Permanent Representative to the United Nations Lana Zaki Nusseibeh.

The meeting dealt with the latest developments in the Libyan arena and means of paving the way for the resumption of dialogue and political process between the Libyan parties under the auspices of the United Nations.

On the other hand, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, First Vice President of South Sudan, Taban Deng Gay, met in the presence of South Sudanese Foreign Minister Haut Deng Ashwell in New York.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the UAE and South Sudan and ways of enhancing joint cooperation in all fields.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the keenness of the UAE, with the support of its wise leadership, to enhance cooperation opportunities and develop friendly relations with South Sudan in various fields.

For his part, Taban Deng Gay stressed his country's keenness to enhance and develop aspects of joint cooperation with the UAE, praising the leading position of the country at the regional and international levels. HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan also met in New York with a number of foreign ministers on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.

His Highness also met with Philippine Foreign Minister Teodoro Luxin Jr., Peruvian Foreign Minister Nestor Popolizio, Panama Foreign Minister Alejandro Ferrer, Paraguay Foreign Minister Antonio Rivas, South Korean Foreign Minister Kang-Kyung-wa, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and Foreign Affairs Minister in Panama. The Republic of Namibia Ntembo Nandi Ndatwash, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mozambique José Kandokwa Bashiko.

The meetings included means of enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields, including investment, cultural, diplomatic, economic, commercial, educational, tourism, food security, renewable energy, agriculture, infrastructure and health between the UAE and these countries.

HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Philippine Foreign Minister Teodoro Luxen Jr. signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines on cooperation in combating human trafficking.
