The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has recently issued a circular to all feed traders in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi on the handling of feed in the Emirate and the application of hygienic practices that ensure the safety of feed for animal consumption. Requirements and standards of biosecurity for the preservation of animal and plant health, and supervision and control of their implementation in coordination with the concerned authorities.
The Authority called on companies supplying and marketing feeds and their traders in farms and mobile vehicles that do not meet the requirements of practicing feed handling activities to correct their situation by complying with the legislation in force, which is to obtain a commercial license from the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi for all feed trading activities, and obtain a no objection certificate for practicing the activity. The Authority has set the end of this year 2019 as a deadline for feed traders in farms and mobile vehicles, and the beginning of November for companies trading feed that do not meet the requirements to rectify their situation, to avoid taking legal action and administrative sanctions against violators, where the Authority warned of the danger of any food or agricultural activity without access to A commercial license from the competent authority and a certificate of no objection to practice this activity from the Authority, and stressed the need to avoid any unhealthy practices during the process of circulation of feed because of the risk to human health and livestock, which is contrary to the He stressed that the application of the scientific and sound foundations in feeding the animal wealth and safe handling of feed are the most important factors that contribute to increasing productivity, maintaining animal health and increasing financial returns on the breeder.
