The father of the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah went out in a video clip and declared his support for President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, a day before possible opposition demonstrations.

Salah's father appeared to read out a written statement that read: "A letter addressed to Mr. Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, from the family of Captain Mohamed Salah and me personally. Very short for Egypt an honor for all honest Egyptians. "

He added, "I will tell you that history will repeat itself in the future, God willing, and every honest Egyptian will know if there is a hero of Egypt's heroes saved this country from the malicious, and we are with you, Mr. President and the army of Egypt."

Salah's father ended the passage by shouting the phrase "Long live Egypt" three times as Sisi has been used to him and his supporters are back.

The video stirred controversy across the media, where some chirps denounced the involvement of the father of the most famous Egyptian players in a political conflict.

Critics have criticized what appeared to be Salah's father to record the clip after he released a statement from his car, and then broadcast the same statement but at another filming site.

The video footage of Salah's father came in the midst of a crisis between his son and the local football federation, after not voting for Salah in the race for the "best" award awarded by the International Football Federation last Monday.

He has never appeared in pro-Sisi positions and has tried to distance himself from political problems, but has come under various criticism from loyalists to the Egyptian president, especially for his distinctive relationship with Mohamed Abu Trika, accused of terrorism by Egyptian courts.

Attention is turned to Salah waiting to comment on the current events, or come out with a message about pushing his father in the race to support Sisi.

The video of Mohamed Salah's father is very painful, like the movies are exactly what a hostage is at gunpoint.
