Nicolas Maduro has just made an official visit to Russia where he was received by his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. As for Diosdado Cabello, the regime's number two, he was in Pyongyang, North Korea, to bring a message from Nicolas Maduro to Kim Jong-un.

It was a trip he was hoping for. Nicolas Maduro hoped a visit with great pomp , image in support. But in the end, even though he was able to demonstrate Russia's support, he had to listen to the Russian president's remonstrances.

Vladimir Putin reiterated his wish that a negotiated solution with all parties be found out of the political conflict that has shaken Venezuela for more than nine months. No commercial or defense agreements have been sealed. This meeting still allowed Nicolas Maduro to obtain the guarantees concerning the cooperation agreements that run between the two countries until 2020.

The number two in Pyongyang

As for the move of Diosdado Cabello in North Korea, officially, he went there to deliver a personal message of Nicolas Maduro to Kim Jong-un, as well as a gift. But the regime's number two could not meet the North Korean leader.
