“The State Department officially enters the sanctions list of Raul Modesto Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba,” RIA Novosti quoted Pompeo as saying.
According to him, “closest relatives” are also included in the lists, namely, Castro’s children.
Earlier in the United States announced the expulsion of two employees of the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the UN.
The Cuban Foreign Ministry condemned such a decision by the American side.
At the beginning of 2019, Raul Castro announced that Cuba was ready for respectful relations with the United States.
