In early July this year, a girl under 18 was assaulted by a man in Skellefteå. The man was arrested at the crime scene and later charged with attempted murder and attempted rape. According to the indictment, the man must have stabbed the girl in the neck and hands as well as forcibly attempted to coerce.

Does not suffer from mental disorders

The lawsuit against the man has been ongoing since late August. A forensic psychiatric examination, which has been going on for a month, shows that the 37-year-old does not suffer from any mental disorder.

- It was important that an investigation was done because he had difficulty telling or remembering what happened, says the man's defense attorney Mikael Stenman.

According to the defense lawyer, he and chamber prosecutor Jonas Fjellström agreed that the investigation should be done and that it was done precisely because the man does not remember the incident.

- My client has had access to the survey and agrees with the results, says Mikael Stenman.

Occupations of 10 years in prison

The prosecutor is serving 10 years in prison, but Mikael Stenman wants a milder sentence.

- I've been talking about six to eight years because this hit him really hard.

According to the defense lawyer, the man can neither deny nor admit the deed because of the weak memories.

SVT is seeking Chamber Prosecutor Jonas Fjellström for comment.
