"Creative places" was a venture that former Culture Minister Alice Bah Kuhnke (MP) was commissioned to implement.

- The idea was that people who normally do not come into contact with culture and who live in so-called socio-economically vulnerable housing areas would have the opportunity to define their culture themselves, says Anne Sjöberg, project manager for the initiative in Flen.

The result is shown in Flen

Over the past three years various projects in dance, drama, photography and visual art have been going on all over the country and during Thursday and Friday you will meet in Flen to show and talk about what you have done.

The project that has been carried out in Flen for the past three years is called "The culture house" and has been run by Flen's world orchestra.

- For example, there has been a self-defense course for girls and we have collaborated a lot with leisure farms and done summer vacation activities. We hired cultural developers and have listened to Flensborna to hear what they want us to do with them, says Anne Sjöbrg.

"Can only come and have a snack"

What did the project mean to Flen?

- The project has meant that there is a place to meet. Either you just come and have a snack or you either do something or talk to others and make new friends. We have many asylum seekers in Flen who have had the opportunity to use culture in different ways.
