Citizens has dismissed its secretary of Organization in the Basque Country , Javier Gómez , for negotiating a coalition with the PP of that community, which Alfonso Alonso chairs. But, above all, to get in touch with a good group of Basque affiliates to make a "transfer" of members of the Orange Party to the Popular Party, as sources from the national leadership have confirmed.

It was some of those militants who contacted the national leadership to denounce this operation that planned the number two of Cs in Euskadi.

Apparently, Gómez had maintained with the Basque PP to try to make a coalition in the three Basque provinces, a Spain Suma for this community, like the one already made in Navarra for the regional elections. All this, behind the back of the national leadership.

When the Secretary of Organization, Francisco Hervías , had knowledge of all these movements, he first called his spokesman in the Basque Country on Wednesday and then Gomez himself to announce his dismissal for "loss of confidence."

Precisely this Thursday, the president of the PP of Álava , Iñaki Oyarzábal , has blamed the president of Citizens, Albert Rivera, for the failure of the coalition between the popular and the orange formation to attend together in the Basque Country to the next general elections, reports Europa Press

Oyarzábal has acknowledged that both formations have maintained contacts in order to join forces in the next elections of November 10. And he added that, although there was a good disposition in Cs Euskadi, it was finally Rivera who has opposed it categorically.

National leadership sources explain that territorial organizations do not have autonomy to decide whether or not to go in an electoral coalition. That attribution, the same sources recall, belongs to the National Executive.
