December 13, 2018The Court of Rome sentenced three years six months Raffaele Marra, former chief of staff of the municipality of Rome, in the process that saw him accused of corruption. This was decided by the II criminal section. Marra, former right-hand man of the mayor Virginia Raggi, was a defendant in the process for a competition in corruption with the manufacturer, Sergio Scarpellini (who died on 20 November last).

The prosecutor of Rome had asked for a sentence of four and a half years against Marra. According to the indictment, Scarpellini would have given in 2013 almost 370 thousand euros to Marra, at the time director of the housing policy office of the municipality of Rome and head of the Department of heritage and housing, for the purchase of an apartment in the area of Fiscal Meadows.
