On September 3, the Tver court in Moscow issued a verdict against Ivan Podkopayev. The court found that the participant in the riots on July 27 sprayed a chemical into the faces of police officers and military personnel of the Russian Guard, as a result of which two servicemen received chemical burns to the eye mucosa. The case was examined in a special order, since Podkopaev pleaded guilty and repented of his deed.
