- The person says he thinks it looks like a grenade of some sort. He took a photo sent to the National Bomb Guard, said Christina Hallin, press spokeswoman for the police, shortly after the police arrived at the scene.

The magnetic fisherman dropped the object into the water but left it on the magnet. When the police arrived, they pulled the object up again and left it on a jetty.

"The bridge and the cape are now closed off," said Christina Hallin.

National bomb protection on the way

The national bomb protection could not make a proper assessment of the photo but chose to go from Stockholm to handle the object.

But it was never relevant to evacuate the properties nearby.

- The assessment is that the object is not dangerous. But you have been blocked off by the immediate area where it is located.

The national bomb shelter retrieved the grenade

Shortly before 7.30 pm, the National Bomb Guard arrived at the marina in Örebro.

- They brought a dog with me, I suppose it was a gun dog. Then they packed up and went off with their car. It was all over in a few minutes, says SVT's reporter on site, Philip Naskret.

Police spokesman Christina Hallin confirms that the bomb guard is ready at the scene.

- They got the grenade and went home. We have also closed the barriers on site.

It is still unclear what type of grenade it is and what assessment the National Bomb Protection has made.

- We do not know how long it has been in the water, there is also no suspect so we will not write any notification. Our efforts today were about taking care of the object and protecting the public, says police spokeswoman Christina Hallin.
