According to the source, the contact took place during a reception hosted by US President Donald Trump to part of the leaders of the countries participating in the UN General Assembly.
“They discussed the situation around Russian-Ukrainian relations,” the source said.
According to RIA Novosti, citing a source in the Russian delegation, "the conversation was quite business."
Earlier Zelensky invited Trump to visit Ukraine.
