High Commissioner Jean-Paul Delevoye, who became a member of the government in early September, will for the first time meet the public service unions on the pension reform project on Thursday (October 3rd), it was reported on Wednesday. concordant sources.

The CGT and Solidaires have confirmed to AFP the holding of a joint council of the civil service (higher instance of social dialogue) on the subject, at that time, in the presence of Mr. Delevoye, confirming information of Public Actors .

The State Secretariat for the Public Service also confirmed the holding of this meeting, which will "assist Mr. Delevoye to exchange with the trade unions and public employers", without, however, specifying the purpose of this exchange.

Asked by AFP, the entourage of the High Commissioner had not responded at midday.

The nine unions (CGT, CFDT, FO, FSU, Solidarity, Unsa, FA-FP, CFE-CGC, CFTC), which represent 5.5 million civil servants in the three slopes of the public service (state, hospital, territorial) had been asking for months for a meeting on the future pension reform, without a response from the government.

This reform project, which the executive wants to present before the municipal elections and to vote in parliament before the end of July, must lead to profound changes for civil servants, including the calculation of the pension on the basis of the entire career. and remuneration received, including bonuses, and not the last 6 months excluding bonuses.

Many holders of "active categories", such as caregivers and hospital service agents, will also lose their entitlement to early retirement before age 62. In compensation, the hardship account that allows some private employees to leave at age 60 will be extended to the public service.

The civil servants' unions denounce a lack of social dialogue and "consultations" that boil down to briefings. They have already unanimously rejected the law of transformation of the civil service promulgated on August 7, reaffirming on September 10 their "opposition to the content and philosophy" of this new law.

They accuse the government of wanting to align the public service with the rules of the private sector to the detriment of the status of civil servant.

The decrees of this law should be published before the end of the year. The government also plans to legislate on a number of sensitive issues including occupational health.
