“Gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storages crossed the border of 20 billion cubic meters of gas - this is more than 4 billion more than last year,” he wrote on Facebook.

Kobolev noted that there are enough gas reserves "to ensure reliable operation of the gas transmission system and gas supply to all Ukrainian consumers in the coming winter."

According to him, such a volume will be enough, even "if Russia goes to interrupt transit through Ukraine."

Earlier, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia at the trilateral talks in Brussels proposed to extend the agreement on gas transit through Ukraine for a short period, unless new requirements of the European Union are introduced before January 1, 2020.

Earlier, Ukrainian political scientist and economist Alexander Dudchak, in an interview with the NSN, commented on the message that Naftogaz intends to demand $ 11-14 billion as “compensation” if Gazprom insists on concluding a new gas transit contract on the same terms.
