Region Örebro County has now registered itself to the Inspection for Health and Care, IVO, according to Lex Maria.
The report made by a chief physician shows that a woman sought treatment for abdominal pain earlier this year.
The woman received a cancer message, because the examination showed a suspected tumor. When it emerged that the patient had previously had a harmless myoma, it was assumed that it was growth. Myomas are muscle nodules that can sit inside or outside the uterus. After this, no further control was planned.
The woman switched to a health center and after a new examination with abdominal x-ray, it turned out to be cancer.
According to the report, the delay probably did not aggravate the patient's condition as it would still have required some time between the occasions when the x-ray could be performed. But it is also noted that "the patient has floated in uncertainty and this has caused a lot of stress".
