According to Moring, sanctions should be lifted “in connection with the Ukrainian crisis” within the framework of the current legal period. His words are quoted by Wirtschaft.

The politician noted that with a reasonable decision, it is possible to proceed with lifting sanctions from the east of Ukraine, easing the pressure “step by step”.

Moring said earlier that the EU sanctions imposed on Russia do not have a proper effect on Moscow, while Russian retaliatory sanctions do huge harm to Germany.

In June, the head of the ruling Christian Democratic Union in Germany, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, announced the need to strive for cooperation and maintaining relations with Russia.
