Soon the school catalog may have had its time. For almost three-quarters of Sweden's municipalities state that they have agreements with school photo companies today, but only about a tenth say that new agreements will be signed after the current one expires, according to the survey.

Two municipalities in the county continue

In Jönköping County, only Aneby and Mullsjö will continue with school photography in the future. While Sävsjö municipality is one of the municipalities that will not take pictures for a school catalog.

"It was a pretty easy choice for us, we found that the school catalog and school photo are becoming more and more expensive," says Stefan Claesson, head of children and education in Sävsjö municipality.

"Is a good memory"

At the Aleholm high school in Sävsjö this year is the last time a school catalog is made. Emelie Fält goes to school last year and thinks it's a sad decision.

"It's a pretty good memory, to look back on her time at school and all her classmates," she says.

As the school catalog becomes more and more expensive, Stefan Claesson believes that it can also put pressure on parents to buy it for their children.

- There will be pressure on families, whether you have a lot of money or a little money. Some have few children and some have many children, so that can be a big expense, says Stefan Claesson.
