Three more years: the French champion Warren Barguil extended his involvement in the Arkea-Samsic team until 2022, which he joined in 2018.

The Breton, the best climber of the 2017 Tour, announced Wednesday his decision to remain in the team that has recruited for the next three years the Colombian Nairo Quintana, ex-winner of the Giro and Vuelta.

Aged 27, Barguil was tenth in the Tour last July.

"He still had a year of contract with us but, on both sides, we prefer to work on the long term and build together," commented Emmanuel Hubert, the boss of the Breton training.

"In the coming years, we want to see him express himself on the general of a great Tour, I think he has all the qualities to get there." With the arrival of Nairo Quintana, we can count on two great leaders in the mountains, "added Emmanuel Hubert.

"The goal of next year will be to test me on the general of a big Tour," confirmed Barguil who welcomed the arrival of Quintana: "It is a definite asset for the team but He has already won two Grand Tours, he knows how to prepare and tackle this very specific exercise in the overall standings. "
