  • Analysis.CDR: this is how the committees that agitate sovereignty in the street

It had not been three hours since the operation was known and, without waiting for the investigation to conclude or for all the evidence against the detainees to be known, all the parties had their particular sentence already clear. The block independentism crossed out the operation ordered by the National Court of "assembly" to criminalize the movement. The constitutionalist parties, on the other hand, blamed the Government for encouraging violent acts and took for granted the existence of bombs, although materials were found, but no artifact.

The most forceful in their accusations were Citizens and PP, who blamed the president of the Generalitat, Quim Torra, for "encouraging" the Defense Committees of the Republic (CDR) to initiate a phase of violence in the streets. They resorted to the controversy that generated Torra in October last year, when he stoked the boycott actions: "Squeeze, and do well to squeeze," he told them shortly after remembering that his daughter and several relatives also militated in the groups. "My whole family is targeted to the CDRs," the president said in May 2018.

Roldan paraphrased him and wondered if when he used that phrase he meant "tighten the detonator." In the same line the PP was shown, who questioned that Torra is "in a position to guarantee social peace in Catalonia ." Its leader, Alejandro Fernández , made a slip when he said that the detainees had "bombs" to attack, in a message on Twitter that he ended up deleting.

The same unit evidenced independence, which reduced an investigation of more than a year to a mere exercise "criminalization" without foundation. Torra linked the arrests to "repression" and accused the State of "rebuilding a story of violence before sentencing." ERC and JxCat also reacted and asked for the appearance at the Congress of Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska to give explanations. The CUP and the CDR, on the other hand, called on "stand up" to the Civil Guard.
