Three of Västmanland's municipalities are among the top 100 in Sweden in terms of the business climate. This shows new figures from the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise. Five of the municipalities are rising in this year's ranking and the biggest hope is Kungsör. The municipality is rising with 106 placements and is now ranked 91 in the country.

- We have chosen to go to different municipalities that have succeeded in improving their business climate and have taken advice and inspiration from them. We simply asked the question: "what have you done?", Says Kungsör's municipal director, Claes-Urban Boström.

The best in the county is again Hallstahammar municipality which is ranked 63 and has risen 29 steps. The business climate in Västerås has also improved and is now one of the top 100 in the country.

- This is important because we need companies that employ and contribute to welfare by creating jobs and tax revenue. This is especially important in Västmanland because we have for a long time relied on a small number of large players, says Tony Gunnarsson, project manager for Swedish Enterprise.

What does a better business climate really mean?

- It is easy and easy to start and run companies in the municipality and the contact is felt to go well in procurement, permits and supervision. There is an open dialogue simply between companies and the municipality. You should not feel anxious about contacting officials and politicians in various matters, says Tony Gunnarsson.
