"The beauty of human hair is good," a slogan developed by the General Organization of the Cultural District "Katara" title of the fourth session of the activities of the Katara Prize for the poet of the Prophet - peace be upon him - which runs until the 27th of this month.

In the short period of its launch in 2016, the Katara Prize for the Poet of the Prophet achieved a wide spread, and a great interaction of poets and interested people, and became a bright spot in the world, in light of the large material awards offered by Katara to the winners in the categories of eloquent and Nabataean poetry, at the rate of three awards for each category.

The total prize money is QR 4,200,000. The first place winner receives QR1 million, the second place winner receives QR700,000 and the third place winner receives QR400,000.

Great engagement
At its fourth session, the organizing committee received 1,158 poems, the largest number of entries since the award was launched in 2016, including 399 from Egypt and Sudan, 308 from Syria and Iraq, 293 from the Maghreb and 134 from the Gulf. The number of participants from non-Arab countries reached 22 poems.

The prize was allocated on Monday and Tuesday for the qualifiers, where 15 participants for the class of eloquent poetry compete in three episodes, before the final jury, which will select at the end of the episodes five participants qualify for the semi-finals, and on the second day, 15 participants for the category of Nabataean poetry, to choose Final jury Five participants qualify for the semi-finals.

The results of the first day of the award resulted in the nomination of Mr. Ahmed Abu Al-Wafa from Egypt, Hassan Amer Ali Amer from Egypt, Khaled Al-Hassan from Iraq, Mohammed Al-Saq from Morocco, and Mohammed Areej from Morocco to the semi-finals of the award in the class of eloquent poetry. Qualifying in the category of Nabataean poetry.

Moral value
He considered the qualifier Khalid Hassan from Iraq that the first phase of the award represents the elite Madhi Prophet - peace be upon him - and this is a great honor for the participants, expressing pride in his fellow poets, both who qualified for the final stages or those who were not lucky in the first qualifiers. Hassan stressed that the Katara Prize for the poet of the Prophet with moral and material value is one of the largest awards.

The semi-finals will begin on Wednesday, during which three out of five winners will be selected for the class of eloquent poetry, while the semi-finals of the Nabataean poetry category will be held on Thursday, resulting in the selection of three winning poets in this category.

The closing ceremony of the tournament will be held on Friday at the Opera House in the cultural district of Doha, where the three winners will be declared the two winners and the prizes will be distributed to the three winners.
