24 September 201922.28 Strong earthquake in Kashmir, in an area densely inhabited and controlled by Pakistan. At least 23 dead, over 400 injured. The earthquake reached 5.8 on the Richter scale. The epicenter is the city of Mirpur, about 33 kilometers north of Jhelum, in the agricultural province of Punjab. The quake had a hypocenter of 10 km and was clearly felt in several provinces and in the capital Islamabad. The army has sent troops and medical teams to the affected area.
