According to the judgment, the woman states that the abuse began as early as the eighties when the couple had been married for three to four years, but that the violence escalated after 2012. In the judgment, she reports on several occasions since 2016 when the man must have beaten her with his fists, kicked her, among other things. thumped her head against a wall and threw a table at her.
The Södertälje District Court considers that the woman's story is credible and is supported by, among other things, photographs of injuries, medical records and testimony. Furthermore, the court considers that the 62-year-old man has been guilty of repeated violence against his wife and that he should be convicted of gross violation of women with the sentence of one year in prison.
