24 September 2019 The Antitrust Authority initiated proceedings against Telepass Spa, a company of Autostrade per l'Italia (Atlantia group) for possible discrimination against consumers. "On 18 September - reads a note - the Authority initiated a proceeding against Telepass for possible violation of the EU-based discipline which prohibits the prohibition or application of different conditions on consumers who intend to pay through direct debit on current accounts foreign so-called "Iban discrimination" ".

From the information collected (reports, site surveys and information provided by the same professional), the Authority notes, "it seems that it is not possible to activate the Telepass service if the consumer intends to pay through a foreign current account, in violation of the rules of to the Legislative Decree No. 135 of August 18, 2015 implementing EU Regulation 260/2012, aimed at creating an integrated market for electronic payments in euros The initiation of the proceedings was notified as part of the inspections carried out yesterday, 23 September, by the Authority in collaboration with the Special Antitrust Unit of the Guardia di Finanza ".
