In addition, she said that the US "supports any possible attempts that are aimed at reaching a political solution and ending the conflict."

Guterres previously announced the creation of a constitutional committee in Syria.

In late August, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Syria Geir Pedersen announced that the constitutional committee of Syria is almost formed.

On September 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin, following tripartite talks with Iranian and Turkish leaders Hassan Rouhani and Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, said the parties assumed that the Syrian constitutional committee would have a decisive impact on the normalization of the situation in the SAR.
