At the meeting, nine so-called action tracks will be presented, including on energy and sustainable agriculture. It is reported that Sweden, together with India, will lead one of the tracks, the restructuring of the industry.

Prior to the meeting, a youth summit was held at the UN headquarters where, among other things, Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg spoke. Thunberg is also one of the leading speakers today, at the climate meeting itself.

At the same time, the meeting and work on the nine tracks is not binding and, among other things, US President Donald Trump is not present. However, so do leaders from, for example, India, Germany and France.

During the so-called high-level week in the UN which begins today, world leaders will meet to give speeches and discuss several world political issues - in addition to the climate, including the conflict in Yemen and migration.
