The delegation refused to declare its participation in the session from September 30 to October 4.

“The above will be a way of Ukraine’s response to the return of the Russian Federation to the PACE session hall without fulfilling the requirements of the Assembly’s resolutions approved in response to Russian aggression against Ukraine,” the delegation’s head Liza Yasko quoted Facebook as saying.

Earlier, Ukrainian MP Bogdan Yaremenko said that the delegation from Kiev will not participate in the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

According to him, the authorities plan to hold consultations with other CE member states in order to develop a plan to restore confidence in PACE.

In August, Yaremenko stated that the task of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is to promote the interests of Ukraine, and not to expel Russia from the organization.

On June 26, PACE adopted a resolution confirming the full powers of Russia.

As noted in the Russian Foreign Ministry, the resolution of the assembly on the return of the powers of the Russian delegation indicates that Europe recognized the role of Moscow in solving modern problems.
