The violence, which dates back to the earliest age for one of the two, would not have been limited to kicking, punching and humiliating practices, such as that of cutting hair, but often consisted of real periods of segregation in the caravans, where the girls were fed to bread and water.

The punishments inflicted by his father would not only have been finalized in resuming small faults in the family environment, but they served above all to prevent the two girls from frequenting their boyfriends, different from those that the father had chosen for them, or two cousins of the camp, with the families for which he had already begun a negotiation, asking and obtaining money in exchange for the consent to the marriage with the daughters.
