Between 2015 and 2019, the global average temperature is estimated to be 1.1 degrees above the pre-industrial period (1850–1900), and 0.2 degrees over the period 2011–2015, according to the report compiled by the World Meteorological Organization.

Warmest since the measurements began

The last four years have already been identified as the hottest since the measurements began in 1850. The report comes with the UN Climate Summit around the corner, and Secretary-General António Guterres said last week that the world is "losing the fight" against climate change.

The report describes the importance of concrete action to curb global warming and the worst climate effects.
