22 September 2019 Iran has decided to release the British oil tanker 'Stena Impero', seized on 19 July in a bolt-and-roll response that had seen, at the beginning of the same month, the seizure of a Tehran oil tanker in the Strait of Gibraltar.

The "Stena Empire" is now waiting to leave the Islamic Republic, the port authorities of Hormozgan reported, to head towards "international waters".

The Iranian oil tanker, suspected of violating the oil embargo on Syria, was in turn released on 18 August.
