SVT News Blekinge's review of the recently closed Blekinge Exotic World has shown, among other things, that three silver foxes have been shown despite a lack of permission. It has also shown on several protracted disputes with former employees who received wrong wages and no salary payments on time.

Blekinge Exotic World has debts at Kronofogden of SEK 145,000 and an unknown number of other debts. And the owner's companion and husband and also have rental debts of almost SEK 300,000 in another animal company. He was sentenced in 2017 for violating the Animal Protection Act.

Despite this, the duo now have plans for a new tropicarium - this time in Sölvesborg.

- They are far ahead, says Kristofer Karlsson, one of the people behind Blekinge Exotic World.

You have debts in Blekinge Exotic World and a rental debt in another company, how do you think about that?

- No comment on that. There is nothing that matters and do not mix my companies, please.

Unclear future

It is unclear how the shortcomings that emerged in SVT's review affect their future operations.

- This is new information for us that we have to think about how we should handle. The fact that we have shown silver foxes is information that we did not have, so we must think about how we should handle it, says Håkan Anderberg, head of department of community building and environmental protection at the county administrative board.

Is it reasonable that people who neglect a permit, have debts and are previously convicted of violations of the Animal Welfare Act may continue to have similar activities?

- If it is reasonable or not, I am not the right person to answer. There is legislation and we have to follow that. Now information about the silver foxes is coming up and it is new to us and something we have not been able to decide on, says Håkan Anderberg.
