It all started with Emelie Gryme and her sister Elin Pedersen taking a self defense course.

- Self-confidence and self-confidence increased and we wanted to continue, but there were no courses, says Emelie.

Instead, they went on an instructor training course in self-defense and now have their own students.

- We felt that we wanted to do something for girls here in Nyköping. Security today is not a matter of course, says Emelie Gryme.

Theory and Practice

Each pass starts with a theory bit. You talk about everything from how the body reacts in an assault situation to what you can think of when you are out and about. Then there will be a shorter warm-up and technology exercises.

- I think it is important to learn defense if you end up in a dangerous situation, says participant Emilie Lund Rüdén.

- It's more that you know you can defend yourself and then it boosts self-confidence, says Ronja Söderström.

Practice different techniques

All around the hall, there are trained techniques on how to get out of different situations and then get a distance between himself and a potential perpetrator.

- We drive calmly and practice techniques, but then when it comes to that you have to take in, says Ronja Söderström.

- I hope that I will be able to defend myself if I end up in a threatening situation, says Emilie Lund Rüdén.

- If we can save a girl from an abuse, this course is worth keeping for life, says instructor Emelie Gryme.
