Australia was scared, but it finally won with the offensive bonus its first match of the 2019 World Cup against Fiji, Saturday in Sapporo, 39-21.

The Wallabies got off to a bad start, dominated by very incisive Fijians in attack, more aggressive in defense, and who flew over the game until the 50th minute (14-12 at the break, 21-12 after the test from Nayacalevu to 44th).

But Australia, two-time world champion (in 1991 and 1999) and one of the contenders for the title, then put the machine to work to end up scoring six tries by Hooper, Hodge, Kerevi, Koroibete and a doubled Latu hooker.
