Valletta (AP) - Shortly before an EU meeting on the distribution of boat refugees in Malta, the island state has rescued more than 200 migrants from distress. A total of 262 people were taken by different boats during the night, the military said. Among them were the 35 people aboard the rescue vessel "Ocean Viking", which were taken in Maltese waters and taken over by an army boat. The ship of SOS Méditerranée and MSF is still waiting for more than 180 migrants in a safe haven.
