For the realization of all-generation social security, the government review meeting discussed in advance the promotion of employment for the elderly to increase the supporters of the system and the review of the pension system that accompanies it, and took concrete measures. It will be included in the interim report at the end of the year.

The government's “All-Generation Social Security Review Conference” held its first meeting on the 20th and started discussions on reforms across the social security system.

As the working-age population declines due to the declining birthrate and aging population, the opinion that efforts to increase the supporters of the system are important one after another,
▽ Promoting employment of elderly people up to the age of 70,
▽ It was decided to discuss in advance the expansion of options for the age at which pensions can be received and the prevention of diseases to prolong healthy life expectancy.

The review meeting will incorporate specific measures into the interim report to be compiled within the year and reflect them in the budget plan for the next year, while also planning to develop the laws necessary for the next year's ordinary Diet session.

On the other hand, at the meeting on the 20th, it was pointed out that a review of benefits and burdens is inevitable as social security costs swell.

Discussions on benefits and burdens will begin in earnest from the beginning of the year, and a comprehensive discussion on the medium- to long-term medical and long-term care provision system will be made so as not to be biased toward the perspective of finance alone. A certain conclusion will be put together before the report.
