In Russia, Pavel Ustinov was released on bail. The young actor is accused of dislocating the shoulder of a riot police officer on the sidelines of a demonstration last summer. And he had been sentenced to more than three years in prison earlier this week. But the indignation provoked by this affair and the mobilization of the world of entertainment in Russia seems to have paid off.

Support has increased in recent days in favor of Pavel Ustinov; and the mobilization paid off as the young actor regains his freedom, just days after being sentenced to more than three years in prison.

A complete turnaround?

This release is temporary; there will be a judgment on appeal next week, but everything seems to indicate a complete reversal of Russian justice in favor of the young man. Last night, the public prosecutor's office had asked for a modification of the sentence, evoking an excessive severity. At the trial, however, the public prosecutor's office had ordered a six-year prison sentence against Pavel Ustinov.

The video explains in part the mobilization

At the origin of this change: the mobilization of the world of entertainment and personalities, known for their proximity to power. The video footage of the arrest of Pavel Ustinov largely explains this mobilization: while the judge refused to look at them, they show that the young actor did not put up any resistance to the police officers who arrested him.
