A posthumous album by Canadian singer Leonard Cohen, titled "Thanks for the Dance" is due out this fall, Sony announced on Friday.

To promote its release, scheduled for November 22, the label has released an excerpt of a piece, almost spoken, bearing the name of a poem of the artist, "The Goal".

"I can not leave my house," Cohen sings in his bronze voice, accompanied by a piano and an acoustic guitar. "Or answer the phone / I'm sinking again / But I'm not alone."

Died at age 82 in November 2016, Leonard Cohen had released a few weeks ago his 14th album, "You Want It Darker", whose lyrics were haunted by death.

It was his son Adam Cohen who initiated the posthumous project, which included the participation of artists Beck, Damien Rice and Feist.

"By composing and arranging the music for his words, we chose his most characteristic musical signatures, to keep it with us," he said in a statement.

"What touches me the most with this album is the surprise reaction of the people who listened to it." Leonard is alive! ", They say one after the other."
