Why don't the politicians do more to make the school smoke-free, that question was asked by class 9A2 from Myrsjöskolan in Nacka to the Minister of Social Affairs today.

A Non Smoking Generation, which organized the meeting between the students and the minister, is concerned about the general public's low knowledge of tobacco. Only four out of ten students state that they have received detailed information about tobacco in school.

The Smokeless Schoolyard Act only covers cigarettes and only regulates the schoolyard. What happens outside the school area does not control school.

"All children have the right to a tobacco-free school time and to share the knowledge that motivates a tobacco-free life," says Helen Stjerna, secretary general of A Non Smoking Generation.
