November 02, 2018Twitter has canceled over 10.00 accounts that discouraged turnout in mid-term elections scheduled in the US on November 6th.

The company announced it in an email to Reuters.

"We intervened against a relevant activity on Twitter," social media spokesman Ian Plunkett wrote.

The accounts were created to appear of democratic origin and invited to boycott the vote.

The intervention on the accounts would have taken place between late September and early October, after the reporting of suspicious tweets by the Democratic party.
