The protesters marched from Engaholm to Alvesta. Many of them were Gemlabor, which among other things is worried that traffic with heavy vehicles will increase in the area.

- I think it is awful that all these transports should go through urban settlements, partly because of the noise and that it destroys the everyday stretches where we go. I am also worried about how we will be affected by the dam, says Gemlabon Carina Lindsjö.

These are about 40 to 60 heavy transport vehicles that will have to go through Gemla every day for 20 years.

"We will win"

Swerocks, which is to conduct the quarry, was cleared by the County Administrative Board in August, which has been appealed to the Land and Environmental Court by both Gemlabor and Växjö municipality, who consider that they have not been involved in the consultation process.

- It's hard to feel anything than before we have appealed. Because I think this appeal is so amazing that we will win it, of course, ”says Ulla Lundegård, who organized the protest march.
