June 25, 2019 San Francisco has become the first American city to outlaw electronic cigarettes.

The ban, voted by the City Council, concerns the sale of all products to vaporize nicotine both in retail stores and through online shops.

A slap in the face of the e-cigarette industry starting with the main brand, Juul, which has its own headquarters in San Francisco.

For the entry into force of the ordinance, scheduled within seven months, now only the signature of the mayor of San Francisco is missing, the democratic London Breed which has ten days to review the legislation.

Under the new rules, cigarettes and other tobacco products remain legal in the city. For some time in the US there has been alarm about the boom in the spread of electronic cigarettes, a phenomenon that among the very young has taken on the proportions of what is defined by the authorities as a real "epidemic", especially among teenagers.
