François Hommeril, 58, is the only candidate for his succession to the presidency of the CFE-CGC for a new term of three years, he said Thursday to AFP after the jurisdictional council of the union of frames.

Normand has been a member of the executive union for nearly 30 years and will be officially re-elected on October 9 at the confederation convention, alongside the new secretary general and treasurer.

A geological engineer by training, he has been managing the fourth French trade union since May 2016 and distinguished himself by taking a critical stance against the reform of the labor law three years ago, the ordinances reforming the Labor Code in 2017 or more recently the reform of unemployment insurance and that of the "universal" system of retreats by points, in the process of concertation, which it considers "useless".

Gérard Mardiné, national secretary in charge of the economy and aeronautical engineer at Safran, born on June 29, 1959, is also the only candidate to occupy the post of general secretary of the CFE-CGC, replacing Alain Giffard, at this time. post since 2016.

The position of treasurer, held by Franck Zid since 2013, must pass into the hands of Jean-Philippe Tanghe, from the banking federation and born December 31, 1963, also only candidate.

The congress will take place on 9 and 10 October in Deauville (Calvados), where a thousand people will gather.

The CFE-CGC claims 147,000 members, compared with 143,000 in 2012.
