Adrien Taquet, Secretary of State for the Protection of Childhood, said Thursday on Europe 1 the principle of the course of "1,000 days" that wants to set up the government to support parents of young children.

INTERVIEW

Accompany the first 1,000 days of a child ... and especially his parents. This is the goal of the government, which has just given the child psychiatrist Boris Cyrulnik a mission to put all this together. The inspiration is "Finnish", as specifies Adrien Taquet, Secretary of State for the Protection of the Childhood, Thursday on Europe 1. And must allow to fight against the "inequalities of destiny".

A global approach"

This course will of course have "a medical aspect," he explains, adding that France is already rather leader in this area. "But we know that the emotional and social environment also has an impact on the development of the child." This is why the executive wants a "very global approach" of early childhood. "It's quite innovative in our country," says Adrien Taquet.

This route will be marked with appointments. But no question, for the moment, to think about sanctions. "We are not in the injunction of how we are going to be a good parent," says Adrien Taquet. The objective is rather to "further support them by giving them information, advice, benchmarks to help them" because "50% of parents tell us that it is hard to be a parent".
